DESCRIPTION:Vinha Velha will host volunteers to perform maintenance and planting actions to support reforestation efforts on the property. Planned activities are: \n\n5 November: Erosion control and beaver dam construction using dead trees\,\n12 November: Water retention activities\, including building rock dams at a beginning waterline\,\n19 November: Water retention activities. Continuing to build rock dams in a waterline\,\n26 November: Waterline restoration. Planting diverse species on strategic spots at waterlines\n\nPlease note that planned activities are subject to change. \nThe activities are from 9:00am to 1:00pm on each of the event days\, and volunteers can join as many sessions as you wish. SUMMARY:Quinta do Horizonte: Planting Diverse Productive Forests
DESCRIPTION:Quinta do Horizonte is offering the following sessions: \n4 & 5 November: Workshop on storing and keeping the water in the landscape. 30 minute theory introduction followed by on-site construction of checkdams with different techniques to teach and inspire. \n12 November: The workshop will combine water retention and agroforestry plantation. \n19 & 26 November: Planting workshop on diverse agroforestry plantations inspired by the principles of syntropic agroforestry. \nAll sessions are from 9:30am to 2:00pm. All ages are welcome. To get there\, continue straight past Pedralva (having the village on your right side)\, pass the garbage bins (also on your right) and the road turns into a dirt road. On the dirt road take the 1st left that goes up the hill.
